A visual novel is an interactive fiction video game featuring a text-based story with spirit-based visuals with live-action stills.

According to the Visual Novel database (VNDB), the first-ever Visual Novel game was Lolita: Yakyūken (Baseball Fist,) invented in 1982.

What Are Visual Novels or Visual Games?

Visual Games have minimal gameplay.
The player interacts with clicking for text, graphics and sound.
These games make one dive into the book. You can actually see what you are reading instead of imagining the story in your head.
Most visual novels have a different storyline with more than one story ends.
In these types of games, the player makes multiple-choice decisions, game-ending decisions and move the character they play according to their choices.
