How to take care of cats can be a tough question, as they can be pretty demanding at times. But, no worries! Here is all that you need to know to take care of cats!
- If you are thinking about keeping a cat, the first thing you need to research and know all about is Litter-Box. Litter Boxes should be chosen according to the breed of cat, their age and behaviour. It should be cleaned regularly.
- Always keep the litter-box in a quiet place. Make sure, no one disturbs the box when the cat gets inside it. Do not change the brand and type of the box you have bought. If cats encounter any adverse experience inside or around the litter box, they might never use it again.
- As their paws and nails develop, cats are bound to scratch, as it is part of their natural behaviour. Scratching-Posts are a great way to keep your cats away from scratching your furniture.
- Cats can be highly tough to handle when they try to reach the surfaces which you cannot afford them to be on. In such cases, you can use a spray bottle and use it on them from afar, to keep them away from the surface.
- There are dozens of cat-foods available in the market today. You can consider any or if you have a kitten, a cat with a medical condition or an aged cat, then you can consult your veterinarian as well. The brand matters as well. Always choose high-quality food for your cat. Check for significant amino and fatty acids in the food, like taurine, arachidonic etc.
- Never give your cat human food unless and until you are sure that it wouldn’t sicken or toxicate your cat. If you want to take care of cats, always consider the Vet first.
7. Cats can shed away their long furs as they roam around the house. Always use a good quality, metal-bristle brush to groom your cat and at the same time check for any harmful fleas, lumps, redness or parasites on their skin.
8. Cats can suffer from dental diseases. Brushing your cat’s teeth is necessary to take care of your cat. As fluoride can be harmful to their dental-care, always use veterinary toothpaste on a soft-brush to clean your cat’s teeth.
9. More than anything else, always make sure to treat your cat as your friend and not just a pet. Play with them to keep them fit, both physically and mentally.
